I love canned peaches, but my children agree with you.

Canned blueberries? That sounds amazing. I don't think I've ever seen such a thing. I haven't grocery shopped myself for months and months now, but I keep sending Kelly into the store with the instruction "buy one of every canned fruit".

I don't have any association between canned peaches and poverty. We had a lot in our house when I was growing up, and I know that we weren't overflowing with cash when I was young, but I don't think we were ever poor. Were they the only canned fruit available in poor neighborhoods or something?

Yeah, I don't understand why fruit is packed in something that could be described as "heavy syrup". Oh, wait, I bet I do. It's because the syrup is cheaper than the fruit, right?

I agree about fruit cocktail. But I love canned peaches. We were somewhat poor growing up. So maybe I liked the taste of fruit poverty bc it's familiar.
I'm apprehensive about canned blueberries. But I'd try them. :)

I disagree on the position of peaches. I like canned peaches. I would not be interested at all in canned apricots, but other fruits would accept in the form of fruit salad, or cooked into something like cobbler or upside-down cake.
