Afton State Park Group Campsite.

Here is the Group Campsite! We have approximately the right 2/3 of this site. The sites on the left side, (with less shade) are not ours.



There is a large fire pit for shared space.



And several individual camp areas with room for tents or campers. According to the website, there are 10 indivdual sites, many of them could fit multiple tents or campers that could be used for common space.



There is a visitor center about one mile north with indoor tables, power receptacles, and vending machines. This building is rentable for weddings or private parties, but I've never seen such a building unavailable, the hours are somewhat limited to daylight hours. It is normally available to everyone who stays in the park.



Right outside the visitor center, there are some bird feeders with many visiting birds, including this blurry woodpecker.



This is a picnic area, not far from the visitor center.



A bit further down is the swimming beach, which is very flooded out right now. It's a bit of a hike to get there.

What is the status currently of this event? We now have a pop up camper. YAY! And are available for the weekend for sure. I don't believe we ever gave you any money. However, you may count on us to do so.

The MN State Park system is very generous with their cancellation policy. I'm going to wait until the last minute to cancel (I think 48 hours before the first date is the last minute).

I don't know what the State Park policy is going to look like in a month, but I think we might be okay to have one social event this summer.

I feel longing chest aches - real physical aches - at the thought of getting to have ONE social event this year. It probably won't have a consuite trailer anymore for socializing indoors, but I think there are still things we could do. I've got a movie projector and screen ready, there's a solar generator that might be enough for at least a short movie one night.

Hang on to your money for now. I don't want a ton of returns if it all goes south.

Laramie made a good point somewhere that the only thing missing from DW is the emoticons that show acknowledgement without needing a comment. I looked for just a standard "thumbs up" image to acknowledge that I'd seen your comment. This is what I found. I hope you feel acknowledged.
