This next round of photos is mostly about the National Arboretum. There are a few interesting ones at the beginning, but the majority of the photos will appeal to people who don't mind looking at photos of flowers.
From Squeaky's house, there's a one mile trek to the Metro station. There's a bus that runs on that route for the crummy days, but most days it's pretty nice.

The Metro (public transportation) stations are really awesome and spectacular.


We got off at "The Infant" station and headed toward the National Mall to see what we could see.
First, we went to the National Arboretum. Outside the building, there are all varieties of indigenous American plants, like those goddamn fucking hostas.

Here's the view of the outside of the conservatory, a very large and remarkable building with more American plants.

It's serene and peaceful inside there, despite the crowds. It's a place where anyone can yammer on their cellphone and not be distracted by anything visually spectacular.

There's an exhibit about plants, which includes some artistic metal flowers, and an interactive display about American plants in medicine.


A subset of "medicine" is "bullshit medicine."

Quite a bit of space in the conservatory is dedicated to orchids, including several new varieties of orchids that are recently developed. This one was bred to look like Georgia O'Keefe's vulva.
