It would be helpful to know who belonged to usernames that aren't familiar to me, but I'm not sure that everyone would be okay with that.

That's a good point. I updated my bio so that it might be easy to guess who I am if a person already knows me. It's most helpful when people have the same username that they used on LJ. Then I know them right away!

Thanks. I have found a few more people that I didn't know were on DW. I suspect that I have still missed many people I know who are hiding behind usernames like "kxsatu" with nothing illuminating in their bios. I'm not sure if those people don't want to be found, or if they don't realize it's impossible to find them?

My suspicion is that they don't want to be easily found. This platform makes it easy to be 'semi-anonymous,' which probably has some sort of appeal.
