Happy Solstice based holiday!
Here is a video from yesterday, it's of my nephew playing the piano, with help from my cousin.
Today is another family gathering day. I was asked to bring one of the standard comfort foods, it's called "scalloped oysters." It's sort of like Marmite, in that if you didn't eat it as a child, you think it's gross, and, it is obscenely salty. Here it is right before it went in the oven.

There are only three ingredients. It's baked layers of cream of mushroom soup, saltine crackers and smoked oysters. My grandmother used to make it and I suspect that she got the recipe from her days in the Navy in Alaska, when commercially available meat would have been exclusively available in canned form.
Today I made the posh version, with Ritz crackers instead of ordinary saltines.
