Second round of State Fair pictures
Some of the photos that I didn't take:
A woman with Tammy Faye Baker makeup and poofy 1980's hair sitting next to a sign that said "Please do not sit here."
The t-shirt on the guy in the Harley Davidson booth that said "You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist's office."
The parents taking pictures of their kids sitting on the tractors in Machinery Hill.
The worn out kids passed out on the bus ride back from the fair.
Here's the crowd at about three in the afternoon.

We went to Machinery Hill. There was a large display of restored antique tractors.

Here's a picture of a child sitting on a tractor in 1995.

Then, there's the parade. The Edina school marching band chose a geeky logo for their band t-shirts this year. I had no idea that the John Deere colors and the Edina High School colors were the same.

"T.C.," the Minnesota Twins' mascot.

Art Cars

A fiberglass cow trying to escape from an uncomfortable place.

"Fairchild," the MN State Fair mascot in furry form.

Fairchild in fiberglass form.

Then, the Dairy building. Live action butterhead carving!

You may be butterified on Facebook if you so choose.

Next, the agriculture building, complete with dioramas, non-political and political seed art!

On the subject of the Minnesota Twins, it turns out that Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer doesn't smoke. Posters were available in the Education Building.

The Creative Activities Building had some very large sculptures on display. That's what the tops of the displays are for!

This SPAM Rocket was built by a kid who looked younger than twenty. Very impressive!

Also in the Creative Activities building, more taxidermy.

There are rides for people who enjoy being flung about.

This chainsaw carving was on our way out. It seemed a good enough alarm to sound the "Time to leave!" bell.

This guy, his friends and their giant stuffed lizard were on the bus ride back with us. Most people over age five are unable to frown in a picture with a giant stuffed lizard.
There were also many passed out children on the bus. I didn't take photos because the parents might have not appreciated it, but here's a picture of a passed out child after the State Fair in 1995.

See? She's even got a "State Fair" button on. Once she got older she thought it was creepy to have her picture taken while she was sleeping, so I stopped.
